Father’s Day!

Fathers day has come and gone. While we don’t go crazy around here for the holiday (I mean come on it’s not like Christmas or anything like that) we do celebrate.

This year was Popstar and Lee’s first fathers day. I wanted to do something memorable for them both. Well, at least for Lee because let’s face it, Popstar ain’t gonna remember 😉 .

My original inspiration came from THIS however, I didn’t have any brown construction paper on hand and wasn’t going to make a special trip to town just for that. So I improvised. Tutorial
Popstars First Fathers day! Lee’s too!

I painted the bottom of Popstars foot Green instead and made it the “stem”. In the upper left hand corner I made a hand print. Which I’ll add was not easy since newborns often refuse to unclench their fists. My best piece of advice if you are needing to do this with smaller children is to do it while they are sleeping. Seriously, worked like a charm!

We here at SoKy Bargains hope you had a phenomenal Fathers day!

Bye Bye Baby Bunnies!

Did you know we raise rabbits? yup we sure do! In fact we have a litter of 8 week old babies that are going up for sale now! 4 females and 1 male! Lionhead Crosses. Totally cute and adorable. They make GREAT house pets and are already litter box trained too!

3 females look all alive! VERY friendly!

These little guys meet me at the cage door EVERY time I come out there to feed or water them!

Finds from the Kentucky 400 Mile Yard Sale

As previously mentioned I love the Kentucky 400 Mile yard sale. I look forward to it every single year! This year unfortunately, I didn’t get to do as much shopping as I normally do because we were set up at Rockfield Elementary.

However, we did go out shopping on the first day of the sale, Thursday. We started at Stone Creek Subdivision (near Bowling Green, Ky) and worked our way over to Russellville. In total we spent about 6 hours.

I picked up a “Mom” Duck and her two babies (made of wood 😉 ) for my dad’s fathers day present for a whole $4! Unfortunately I don’t have a photo because my dad found them in the back seat of my car when he was loading up my newborn for me so I just gave them to him then..and made a mental note to myself to get better with my hiding skills!

I also picked up a 5 gallon bucket of Dish Washing Soap Packs for $10! So far I’m impressed!

TONS of Dishwasher Soap!!

Last but not least I picked up this sled for $15. The plan is the re-paint it and do some Christmas Photo Mini-Sessions in November! I still need to order the rest of the items but for $15 I couldn’t pass this baby up!

Cool DIY project
My $15 photo prop find!

Thanks again to EVERYONE who came out to Rockfield Elementary and shopped with us! We had such a fun weekend! I loved hearing the stories about what people were going to do with the items! One of my favorites was a MASSIVE white chandelier I sold to a man who was actually buying it for his brother and his Fiance to put in their wedding in a brewery in Chicago. Seriously, How cool is that?

Kentuckys 400 Mile Yard Sale

Map of 400 Mile yard sale

If you have never shopped the 400 mile yard sale you are truly missing out! I have gone every year for the last 10 or so years. I have found some of the coolest stuff along this route. Granted I usually stick on the route between Russellville, Ky and Bowling Green, Ky. One day I hope to make it all the way out to the end of the route. I have never actually visited eastern Kentucky and when would be a better time to visit it then when I can stop at a million little small towns and buy random items?

If you are looking for antiques, animals, good food, vintage items, new times, old items, ANYTHING then you should really hit up this yard sale event.

Another cool thing..It’s all along history 68 highway. Which means if you travel the entire thing you will see many cute adorable small towns where everyone knows everyone. It’s that awesome.

We will be setting up at the Rockfield Elementry School in Rockfield, Ky. We have bought 4 parking spots. Yes, I have THAT much stuff to get rid of. I am clearing out EVERYTHING. Womans Clothing, Kids Clothing, Mens Clothing, Shoes, and SO MUCH  MORE. I cancelled tons of listings in my eBay store. I went from over 200 listings to just above 19. Prices are LOW. MOST items are $5 and under though there are a few items above that. They are still GREAT deals.  Make sure to stop by and see us!

Want to know more about it? Visit ! It’s FULL of information like locations you must stop at along the way! It gives you TONS of locations to stop by and see too!
